The Sohma family is cursed. Whenever they are embraced by a person of the opposite gender, they transform into an animal of the Chinese Zodiac (and the cat). They manage to keep this curse a secret, but when Tohru Honda learns the secret, the household changes forever. Tohru must promise to keep this a secret of her own, or suffer the concequences.
