Miyako is daughter of the detective on the case of Kaitou Jeanne, and later Kaitou Sinbad as well. She assists her father in the attempt of their capture, unknowing to the fact that the two thieves are her good friends, Maron and Chiaki. She feels indebted to Maron because growing up Maron always had to help her get out of sticky situations, so she returns the favor by trying to convince their suspicious classmates that Maron isn't Jeanne (she doesn't realize that she actually is). She also is on the gymnastics team along with Maron, and although she doesn't show it most of the time, she is envious for all that Maron has, including Chiaki's heart.
